Today, almost 350 million Christmas trees are currently growing on farms across the U.S. Approximately 25-30 million real Christmas trees are sold annually in the U.S.

The average production lifespan of a conifer growing on a Christmas Tree Farm is 6-10 years. The first Christmas Tree Farm was started in 1901 when W.V. McGalliard planted 25,000 Norway Spruce seedlings on his farm in New Jersey.

More than 2,00 trees are usually planted per acre. On average, 100-1500 of these will survive.

Teaching kids about the Christmas tree industry helps them understand the time, care, and energy dedicated to growing Christmas trees for the holiday season, fostering an appreciation for the sustainability and eco-friendliness of choosing real trees.
