Dairy cows are amazing mammals that have the superpower to turn grass/hay/silage, corn, grain by-products, proteins, vitamins and minerals into an average of 7-9 gallons of milk per day.
Milk is the #1 commodity of dairy cattle production. The amount of milk produced is measured in pounds of milk. the U.S. produced 226 billion pounds of milk in 2023. California leads production with approximately 40.0 billion pounds of milk.
